Globensky The Band / Ancestral is inspired by the history of the Globensky family, a renowned Polish family that contributed to Québec’s economic growth. The family founded the Globensky Manor in Saint-Eustache, which has since become a museum.

Globensky The Band was founded by Chantal Claude, who is connected to this lineage. Her musical inspiration comes from her great-grandfather, Charles-Édouard Globensky, a well-known musician of his time and a descendant of Hubert, the brother of Colonel Maximilien Globensky. Maximilien fought alongside Colonel de Salaberry, preventing the Americans from crossing into Canada at Salaberry and Châteauguay. He also helped defeat the Saint-Eustache rebellion in 1837 alongside Colonel Colborne.

Chantal Claude’s music is evocative and sincere, deeply rooted in her own life journey—and in those of others. Each song she writes carries a powerful message, grounded in human experience. Music has always been a part of Chantal’s life, profoundly inspired by her father Claude, who dreamed of a music career..

In 1983, Chantal Claude signed with Formula Records, photographed by Daniel Poulin. This marked the release of her song “We Can’t Be Apart.”

Over the years, Chantal has worked with exceptional mentors. From 1998 to 2008, she studied piano and composition with Alain Payette. Her artistic practice also draws from martial arts, dance, and guitar. She is currently studying guitar with Daniel Marchand.

Her primary musical influence is her lifelong idol, Elvis Presley. She also holds deep respect for legendary artists such as David Bowie, Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Freddie Mercury (Queen), Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Ann Wilson (Heart), Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Véronique Sanson, Michel Pagliaro, Diane Dufresne, and Nanette Workman.

Throughout the years, Chantal has drawn inspiration from the greatest voices in rock—artists to whom she feels deeply musically connected. A prolific songwriter and performer, she writes lyrics and music for Globensky The Band.
